It would be hard to make this up. Imagine the plot, a presidential hopeful, running on a platform of change, with transparency being one of his key issues. He gets elected and the government immediately begins to hold debates on health care. Those debates are all held behind closed doors.

I personally believe the manner in which this award was given is fitting. It should be placed right next to the President's Nobel Peace Prize. When will get back to the time when awards were given for achievements. The hope that someone might someday achieve the merits of the award, is not a reason to award it.
